The tiny shadow

A small fox-like shadow sat. She was no larger than a humming bird, and had piercing purple eyes. The world around her was dark. She gave a small giggle, alerting any nearby digimon to her presence. She shadows moved around her. She gave anther small giggle. Her voice echoed not truly coming from one spot.

Naesala walked up next to her, sitting down next to her, "Never imagined I'd see one of you even if it is always night in this area, Shademon." he said, patting her head.

"Yes, I'm a rather rare site aren't I?" The small shadow replied. Her small purple eyes watched him. Her shadows swirled around her.

"Indeed, very rare, I'm happy I got to see you." he said, yawning, despite the perpetual darkness in this area, it was night time and as such Naesala was tired, "So tired....it's almost un-fair, you're completely awake at night but I'm not despite ruling this place." he said, chuckling.

"The light of the moon is all i need to keep me awake." Lucy replied to the man. She was so small compared to him, and despite him being the ruler, she was unafraid. She small, brave, and a trickster. Rolled into one package made a very defiant girl.

"I see, still doesn't perpetual darkness get tiresome eventually?" he asked, looking at her with a smile, "It does to me, coupled with the deadly creatures that inhabit this place, the Dark Zone is a deadly place.

"The sun is what makes me sleep. I'm a shadow so when the sun touches me I disappear." Lucy replied. "Than the moon comes and I am there again. The darkness is more comforting than light. Easier to hide, to disappear, to pretend there isn't a problem as long as you can't see it." The small shadow spoke looking up at the moon.

"I see, it's an easy philosophy to live by." he said, yawning, "Man I hope Yumi didn't follow me." he said, looking around "Where do you go during the day, where do you dissapere to?" he asked, looking at her closely.

"I don't know. During the day I sleep, but I don't know where I go. I would guess I melt away into the other shadows. The shadows that don't move."Lucy replied looking up at the man. Who's Yumi, she thought to herself.

"Interesting, but that wouldn't be possible when you gain a physical body." he said, looking at the moon, "I'd guess that light bends around you strangely, making you invisible." he said, yawning again.

The small shadow shrugged. Maybe so, She was a creature of pure darkness. One of the most pure viruses you could find. It didn't truly matter to her as she curled up in a ball. She thought about leaving but decided not too.

"How about you come to stay in my castle?" he asked, boredly, "Yumi is dreadfully annoying and the paperwork is killer, it'd be nice to have someone to talk to." he said, patting the small shadow.

"I don't work with armies. You might risk getting betrayed, but you know who you're talking to don't you." The shadow giggled. She had never worked with just one army. She didn't like that. She refused too. If the offerings were good she would betray another.

"I'm not an army recruiter, nor do I recruit anyone, I'm asking you formally to join me in my castle, no fighting, no army, just a nice warm place to stay." Naesala said, scratching behind the shadows ears.

"Okay, I'll stay with you. But don't be surprised when you can't always find me." Lucy answered him. She looked up at him. Her glowing eyes betraying no emotion whiten the little shadow.

"Alright then." he said, lifting her onto his shoulder, he lifted into the air and flew towards the center of the dark zone, his castle.
